Hi and Welcome!
First of all, before we jump into talking about ourselves, we want you to know that we are SO glad you are here! Seriously, we’re not sure if we have said that enough yet throughout this site… but we really mean it! We couldn’t do this without you!
So a little more about us… we are Katie Wiseman and Heather Mogel… founders of Mountain View Acres.
We have both had a dream of starting a farm for many years, but this year the Lord really put it on Katie’s heart that this is the year that she needs to go and grow this vision. So, she set out on a quest to find a partner who shared her vision of creating amazing farm fresh meat, eggs and produce for the community… and that’s where Heather came in!
We Try To Make Healthy Living a Way of Life…
In the short time we have been partners we have learned that we had more in common than we even realized! We both started out on this journey by trying to feed ourselves and our families the very best possible food. Most of the time we both live by the food philosophy that if God didn’t grow it… we don’t eat it (of course we also live by the 80/20 rule! lol! So don’t think we aren’t splurging on a sweet treat or drink most days! Just keeping it 100% real life over here!).
Hmm… Let’s see. What else do we love?
We both love to bake… when we have time, of course! To say we adore our family, extended family and of course our church family is the understatement of the year… and… yep, we even go to church together, too!
Did you know that Katie had a pie business for a while? And Heather has sold a few loaves of sourdough bread herself! We are excited to share our recipes with you very soon!
We Are No Strangers to Hard Work
Katie was raised in a family business and Heather also owns a small business… so hard work is just part of both of our DNA! We are definitely no strangers to hard work. Since we are both still working full time, we are running this farm business in the margins while still loving on our babies and trying to spend quality time with our husbands!
What The Future Holds…
We have many, many plans for this blog, our online store as well as our current and future farm space! We are actively looking to grow the farm and secure some amazing pasture for our flocks and future animals. In the meantime, we are learning TONS and trying to enjoy every minute of this journey that the Lord has us on (there have already been lots of tears and frustrations, but hey… that’s all part of it, right?).
As we learn more about blogging we cannot wait to share all of our healthy living tips and tricks, all about our farm fresh products, why we make LOW PUFA body care products, as well as recipes, how to’s and whatever else the Lord guides us to share!
